Can I lease on a month-to-month basis?
No. The homes of Cottage Park Rentals require a one-year lease (unless stated otherwise on the individual property page), renewable annually. We are able to be a bit flexible if you are waiting on construction of another home. However, we will not terminate any lease during the winter months, October through March.
Is there an application fee?
A $50 application fee is required for each adult applicant.
Can I pay the application fee online?
Yes, just request an invoice by email and you can use your credit card or PayPal account to pay the application fee.
How do you qualify tenants?
To learn about the criteria we use for screening applicants please download the PDF file Criteria for Tenancy.
Where can I get an application form?
You can download the Application Form and submit it by FAX, mail or in person. Please call before visiting our office. Remember, it's also our home!
What are the total costs to get into one of your homes?
We generally require first and last month's rent and a security deposit equal to one month's rent. In short, it takes three times the monthly rent to take occupancy of one of our homes. If you have pets there is also a $300 per pet non-refundable pet fee.
Do you accept pets?
Pets are accepted by 'audition' only. We want to be sure that there is a good fit for both the owner and the pet. References from former landlords and/or neighbors indicating that the pet was well-behaved may help. All pets must be neutered, up-to-date with all veterninary care and dogs preferably graduated from an obedience training course. There is a $300, non-refundable pet fee for each pet that is accepted.
Are there any grocery stores/restaurants/shops in the area?
Within 1.3 miles you'll find all of the above! We are 1.5 miles from the heart of downtown Asheville. See the Community page for more info.
Are there any special rules while living in one of the Cottage Park Rental homes?
Simple courtesies are expected by our neighbors. "Quiet enjoyment" best describes our policy. We have an open greenspace which we invite our good neighbors to share. A hammock stretched between two oak trees invites quiet reflection on warm summer afternoons. We live here and enjoy the company of our neighbors. |
